Inert complex

Formation of the Inert Complex

The ligand binding domain of the nascent progesterone receptor interacts with heat shock proteins (Hsp90, Hsp70) and accessory proteins (immunophilins, Hop, p23) to form an inert complex that sequesters and shields the monomeric receptor. The ligand binding domain of the nascent, monomeric GeneSwitch® regulator protein drives the formation of a similar inert complex. The formation of the inert complex reduces the level of basal expression and the toxicity risks.

PR - Human progesterone receptor ligand binding domain

p65 - Human NF-kB activation domain subunit

Gal4 - Yeast Gal4 DNA binding domain

Hsp - heat shock protein
